NJAIMH is a statewide interdisciplinary organization that:
- encourages the realization that infancy is a critical period in the psychosocial development of individuals.
- works to increase the responses of its members to the needs of culturally and ethnically diverse infants and families through mutual support and sharing of information.
- facilitates statewide cooperation among all persons concerned with promoting conditions that will bring about optimal infant development and optimal caregiver infant relationships.
- promotes awareness of public policy and its effect on infant mental health.
- encourages the realization that infancy is a critical period in the psychosocial development of individuals.
